Nogent Fish Spatula

Don't let the name fool you. Nogent's fish spatula (officially the Kitchen Spatula No. 3) is useful well beyond fish. It has the classic proportions: a thin, flexible stainless steel blade that slides under a crisp-skinned fillet or a fried egg and lifts it in one piece, with slots that let the oil drain away as you go. We also love the wooden handle, which won't melt if it ends up resting against the side of a hot pan.

Reach for it whenever a regular spatula feels clumsy, like flipping pancakes, lifting smashed potatoes off the tray, or turning a piece of salmon without leaving half the skin behind.

Nogent has been making knives and kitchen tools in France since 1923.

Hand wash only.

16cm blade, 28cm overall.
